About Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center

IOHBCDC was established in 1991. We share the property with our church at 22 Rose Avenue. We provide care for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. This includes childcare and aftercare for school-aged children. The aftercare program turns into a summer camp during the summer.

By nurturing children in a safe, loving, Christian environment, we want to teach good manners and honesty to help establish responsibility and self-esteem as they play, learn, and grow.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • CPR Certification (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a camp or daycare environment
  • Must complete a satisfactory background check through Bright from the Start
  • Demonstrate patience, initiative, strong work ethic, flexibility, and reliability
  • Be clean, neat, and organized
  • Be a good role model for impressionable children
  • Knowledgeable about state licensing requirements and understand that we will be in compliance at all times
  • Genuinely care about children and their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
  • Friendly, with a desire to work as a team in a rewarding, fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal communicator with an upbeat personality, comfortable with and excellent at speaking to parents
  • Energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly personality

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professional confidentiality standards in internal and external communication between employees and/or parents
  • Provide a safe and loving environment that nurtures the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development of each child
  • Follow program schedule for the classroom, outdoor time, meals, snacks, and special activities
  • Keep accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal notes, and attendance
  • Maintain positive informal and formal communication with families on a daily basis through Procare
  • Maintain a safe, comforting, and stimulating environment for school-age children
  • Lead recreational and educational activities while educating campers
  • Set up and maintain equipment
  • Address behavioral issues
  • Perform first aid and take care of injuries as needed
  • Follow the cleaning schedule, including mopping classroom where needed
  • Execute all other duties assigned
