Lead Teacher (Full-Time)

$15 Per Hour (based on experience)
Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center is currently looking to fill an immediate opening for a Lead Teacher. At Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center, we take pride in caring for children in a safe and loving Christian atmosphere. The Lead Teacher will be required to create our expected environment while developing and implementing an age-appropriate curriculum that provides the highest quality of education. The Lead Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide Teacher Aides, and resolve parental concerns. All staff members are required to actively observe and document children’s activities and progress throughout each day, as well as meals/snacks, and accurately relay that information back to parents and the Director. Candidates must exhibit a strong desire and compassion for working with children in order to be considered for employment.

About Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center

IOHBCDC was established in 1991. We share the property with our church at 22 Rose Avenue. We provide care for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. This includes childcare and aftercare for school-aged children. The aftercare program turns into a summer camp during the summer.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience preferred, but not required.
  • CDA Certification or higher required. Must be completed within 6 months of hire date.
  • Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification required. Must be completed within 90 days of hire date.
  • 10 Hour Health & Safety Orientation required. Must be completed within 90 days of hire date.
  • Maintain 18 annual ECE hours.
  • Ability to maintain high energy and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong understanding of child development is required.
  • Must clear a full background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement age-appropriate educational curriculum by developing classroom activities that align with state guidelines and Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center’s program goals.
  • Encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth by creating and implementing both individual and group age-appropriate activities.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily progress reports.
  • Respect confidentiality of IOH Baptist CDC families and staff members.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Ensure a constant safe and healthy environment.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to state licensing regulations, as well as IOHBCDC’s policies and procedures.
  • Manage regular cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
